Entry Rules for The Irish Experience
Welcome to The Irish Experience, a celebration of Irish culture and creativity. Whether you are an individual performer or part of a group, we invite you to showcase your talents in music, dance, poetry, or short play.
The Irish Experience will be held on February 8th from 5pm-9pm.
Please review the following entry rules carefully:
Eligibility:
Groups or individual performers may enter.
If you are part of a CLRG school, your teacher must provide their backing for the entry.
Include the following details when submitting:
Name of school
Teacher’s name
Teacher's contact information (phone/email)
Categories Available:
Music: Traditional or contemporary Irish music performances by individuals or groups
Dance: Traditional Irish dance or creative performances inspired by Irish dance
Poetry: Original poems related to Irish culture or tradition, or poems written by Irish poets
Short Play: A short performance, up to 15 minutes, inspired by Irish themes, folklore, playwrights, or history
Submission Deadline:
All entries must be submitted by January 15th. No late submissions will be accepted.
Submission Format:
Submit a video recording of your performance.
The video should include an intro statement, providing the following information:
Name of school (if applicable) or name of the act
Title of the piece being performed
Names of performers (if applicable)
Description of the act and its inspiration or theme
Responsibilities:
Music: Performers are responsible for sourcing and providing their own music.
Choreography: Dance acts must create their own choreography.
Costumes: All acts are responsible for sourcing and creating their own costumes. Please ensure that costumes reflect the Irish theme of the event.
Judging Criteria:
Entries will be judged based on creativity, authenticity, and adherence to Irish culture, as well as overall performance quality.Entry Confirmation:
After submission, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your entry.
Important Notes:
Performances must be suitable for a general audience.
Please ensure your video is clear, well-lit, and of good quality for evaluation purposes.
By submitting an entry, you grant permission for the video to be used for promotional purposes by The Irish Experience event.
By submitting an audition, participants agree to release and hold harmless For the Love of Ireland, its affiliates, employees, and agents from any liability for injuries, damages, or losses arising out of or in connection with their participation in the event. Furthermore, participants consent to being photographed or recorded during the event and grant For the Love of Ireland the right to use such images or recordings on its website and for promotional purposes without compensation.
